John Waluke retains Sirisia MP

Sirisia Member of Parliament Rtd Major John Koyi Waluke has retained the Sirisia National Assembly seat after defeating his two challengers by a huge margin.

The MP under the Jubilee party ticket garnered 16,461 votes to win the seat followed by 1st runners up Kasembeli Nasiuma of FORD Kenya with 8,811 votes and the 2nd Runners up Moses Nandalwe garnering 3,421 votes under the ODM party ticket.

The MP will now serve a third time as the Sirisia Member of Parliament. Waluke first contested the seat in 2013 and won on an ODM ticket.

In 2017, he defended the seat, but on a Jubilee ticket, braving against ODM, ANC and FORD Kenya wave in the region.

The MP is the Jubilee Chairperson in Bungoma County and the only one elected under the Jubilee Party in Bungoma.

The Returning officer, Ochanya Kennedy thanked Sirisia residents for maintaining peace during the voting and the tallying period.

Waluke lauded the voters for coming out in large numbers to elect him and for trusting in his leadership again while promising them to develop the constituency at large.
