Ajira digital with the help of Marakwet West Member of Parliament, William Kisang has opened a modern constituency innovation hub in Cherengany/Chebororwa ward.
The centre through partnership with Ajira will help train youth impacting them with skills that will help them source for online work through the various job platforms on the internet.
The hub is fully equipped with laptops /computers and has free internet access.
The centre is looking into reaching a substantial number of youth and for a start they are expecting to train between 30-50 youths each week.
Albert Kipruto, the hub manager said they have a capacity of 50 and are looking forward for the youth to enroll and start training.
The training is usually one week followed by a two-week mentorship programme to help the trainees find a niche in the online platform.
Speaking during the launch of the innovation hub in Chebororwa, Kisang said that the aim of the hub is to provide the youth with a platform to source for online jobs that will enable them earn a living and build online work careers.
“The programme will make them be self-employed which in turn make them have economic freedom to improve their livelihoods,” said the area MP.
He added that the project is being set up in all the wards of Marakwet West and with the opening of the hub in Chebororwa the number of hubs in the constituency rises to three.
