G.K. Kitengela Prison inmates have benefited from a donation of over 60 mattresses courtesy of the KCA University, Kitengela Campus.
Dr. Fred Sporta, the Director of KCA’s Kitengela campus, said that he believes that people should ask themselves what they can do for the government rather than what the government can do for them, so that we can make the country a better place for all.
He revealed that the campus is planning to support the correctional facility with courses that the inmates can undertake, as they want to do more than just donate.
“We want to partner with the facility to give them support in certifications of programmes that they can do, so that when they are done with their corrective period, they are able to be productive people who can be a blessing to everyone in society,” said Dr. Sporta.
Dr. Chris Magoha, in charge of the G.K. Prison Kitengela, said that the kind gesture will go a long way in helping the correctional facility correct the inmates, as they will be able to accept corrections when they are in a conducive environment.
He appealed to other people of goodwill who want to partner with the prison in helping reform the inmates to chip in, adding that no matter how big or small the acts of kindness, they will go a long way in transforming society.
