The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has in collaboration with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities launched the Persons with Severe Disability Impact Assessment Report.
The report examines the effects of the cash transfer programme on its beneficiaries, providing valuable insights into its impact on their lives.
In a commendable show of support, the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, alongside the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, presented a cheque worth Sh1.2 million to learners with disabilities, demonstrating the government’scommitment to supporting this community.
During the launch, Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Florence Bore affirmed that beneficiaries of the cash transfer programme would receive ongoing support to help them lead dignified lives.
She revealed that the government allocates Sh31 million monthly to assist 15,000 beneficiaries in Mandera County.
Mandera Governor Mohamed Khalif reiterated the county’s pledge to provide an inclusive environment for persons with disabilities.
Additionally, he announced the allocation of Sh55.5 million to support orphans in the county, underscoring their commitment to aiding vulnerable groups.
National Council for Persons with Disabilities CEO Harun Hassan expressed gratitude for the initiative, recognizing its potential to alleviate the significant burdens faced by many families.
