Ijara Member of Parliament (MP) Sophia Abdi Noor, has launched construction of Abalatitow girls Secondary school in Kotile division of Ijara Constituency that will comprise four classrooms, administration block and two dormitories.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony at Abalatitow, the MP said the school will boost girl-child education hence alleviate poverty in the area, adding that when a mother is educated the whole community benefits.
Calling for donor support to help in the completion of the school that will benefit from the National Government Constituency Development Funds, she revealed that the project is also proposed to include Principal and Matron residences and a dispensary within the school.
When complete, the school will be the eighth in the Constituency.
