Muhoroni Deputy County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia has expressed optimism that the huduma number exercise in the area would be a success.
He said registration assistants deployed to cover the exercise in the Sub County were expected to capture about 200,000 citizens.
Speaking Wednesday at Chemelil round about when he registered for the huduma number, the administrator called on residents to enroll in large numbers.
“All government services will be consolidated into one number that will become easier for planning and improve security,” he said.
He added that the ongoing National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) dubbed huduma number would relieve the populace from carrying several documents for identification.
He said the plan has no ill motives other than improving government services to its citizens.
A spot check by KNA revealed that many people have embraced the exercise and by 8 am, more registration centres had long queues of residents ready to acquire the huduma number.
Lotiatia said he has instructed the chiefs and their assistants to mobilize residents to participate in the exercise.
The registration exercise began on 3rd April 2019 and was expected to run for 45 days according to the government.
Most developed countries have adopted the plan and the Kenyan government seeks to establish master digital National Population register.
