Hospital starts using AON Minet cover for treatment

Webuye County Hospital is now set to serve clients using AON Minet Medical Insurance Cover.

The facility’s medical superintendent, Dr Simon Kisaka revealed that a contract to avail services to those clients has officially been signed with the insurance provider.

“We are happy to announce to our clients that the deal is sealed and our professional medics are ready to take up patients with the cover for specialized attention,” added Dr Kisaka.

He said the facility has only been admitting clients with National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) cover and those paying in cash.

In the new arrangement, teachers will be the biggest beneficiaries of the service since they subscribe to the AON cover provided by their employer, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

He said teachers have been traveling to Bungoma to source for basic medical services where they are covered by their insurance, though the facility offers the services affordably.

The facility, which won an award by Johnson and Johnson for emerging the best in maternity services, has been ranked the best public health facility in the county.

The award by Johnson and Johnson in conjunction with the Nursing Council recognizes public and mission hospitals for exemplary services despite the many challenges facing public health sector.
