Homa Bay county government has been challenged to roll out mass testing of coronavirus in all the eight sub counties as a way of preventing the spread of the virus in the county.
Member of County Assembly (MCA) for North Kabuoch ward George Okello said that if rolled out mass testing exercise would help in keeping the county safe from any coronavirus cases as it was being witnessed in some other counties.
Okello added that all the residents should be subjected to mandatory screening and testing for the coronavirus in shopping centers and at the household levels for the county to be sure of keeping the spread at bay.
The MCA applauded the county security team and county health official for the initiative of screening exercise being undertaken in all entry points into the county saying this should be extended to villages.
The MCA said this while speaking to KNA at Sikwadhi trading center after donating hand washing equipment to area boda boda riders, where he called on them to adhere to government directives of ensuring they wear face marks and carry only one passenger to reduce the risk of contracting the coronavirus.
