The Head teacher of Baragoi Secondary School and the Samburu North Sub- county Examination Officer were last Thursday arrested for abetting cheating in the ongoing Kenya certificate of national examinations.
According to the Samburu North Sub-County Police Commander, Mr. Tom Makori, the suspects may appear before the courts when investigations over the issue were concluded.
Makori further disclosed that the Education officials were arrested following a tip-off from members of the public who informed the authorities that the suspects were colluding a teacher at the same school leak the examinations to the sitting candidates.
preliminary investigations into the incident indicated that some candidates were spotted frequenting the school toilets in suspicious manner where a chemistry paper complete with answers was strategically placed for their perusal..
He said the two are being held at Maralal Police Station awaiting to be charged in court.
