Gusii Leaders Endorse Matiangi for the Presidency in 2022

Succession politics  took centre stage over at a Funds-drive in Kisii county the weekend when a section of Gusii leaders endorsed Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiangi  for the presidency in 2022.

Gusii leaders among them Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka and Kisii County Governor, James Ongwae endorsed Matiangi during a church fundraiser at Mekonge SDA Church at Kitutu Chache North Constituency

Kitutu chache South MP, Richard Onyonka said it was high time the Gusii Community leads the country given the fact that the community is second in ranking in the economic sector of the nation.

The law maker backed proposals for Matiang’i going for the top seat given his tremendous record in the Government like curbing cheating in national examinations.

Onyonka cautioned political leaders from other parts of the nation for taking the larger Gusii community for granted.

Kisii County Governor, James Ongwae declared that the Gusii Community will no longer act as ‘flower girls’ but instead it will produce a presidential candidate.

Matiang’i who remained mum throughout the discussion instead issued a stern warning to betting firms saying majority of them had been put on the watch list for failing to  pay taxes.

The interior CS reiterated the need for accountability of the Sh 450 billion set aside by National Treasury for government projects.

He noted that these funds should not be wasted but instead be used to transform people’s lives and develop the nation optimally.
