The National Government has disbursed 2000 bags of maize to Baringo County residents to cushion them against hunger following severe drought.
Speaking at AIC church Kabartonjo where he attended the Sunday service area senator Gideon Moi assured vulnerable families within Baringo South, Tiaty and some parts of Baringo North that the relief maize distribution would be conducted this week.
Moi challenged leaders not to focus only on the forthcoming General election but to also address major problems facing residents in their respective areas.
He further challenged leaders seeking various elective positions to sell their manifestos in
peace and let the people decide whom to vote for.
Moi also urged residents to continue coexisting harmoniously as elections would come and go and similarly advised winners and losers in next month’s poll to preach peace.
Moi is defending the seat on a Kanu ticket. Baringo North MP William Cheptumo is also eyeing the same seat and so is Felix Chelaite of CCM party.
The senator was accompanied by the women representative Gladwell Tungo and
Deputy Governor Jacob Chepkwony.
