Gov’t starts issuing title deeds in Mwala

The government on Monday started issuance of title deeds to some 1,140 land owners in Yathui and Kibauni areas in Mwala Sub County.

Mwala Deputy County Commissioner David Tegutwa said the exercise is part of the National Titling Programme launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Tegutwa said the issuance is expected to be concluded by the end of the week and appealed to the owners to pick the title deeds within the set timelines.

“This is a presidential directive to be done expeditiously within this week, we call upon the owners to take advantage of the exercise and pick the documents,” said the DCC.

Speaking to KNA today in his office the administrator disclosed that the issuance will be conducted at the Assistant County Commissioners (ACC) offices and chiefs camps.

He dissuaded the land owners from selling the land but instead use it to enhance agricultural productivity.

“The title deeds should not give the owners the impetus to dispose of their land, they should instead use it to uplift he living standard of their families, “added Tegutwa.
