Govt priorities development projects to uplift livelihoods

Information, Communications and The Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary (CS), Eliud Owalo, has assured residents of Migori County that President William Ruto’s government will focus on the development projects to boost the economy and uplift lives of Kenyans.

Mr Owalo said that the current government will not be swayed in any way to take the route of playing rhetoric politics that have no place for development, but would be keen to improve the lives of all Kenyans regardless of their political inclination.

“What we are currently doing is to see that our farmers are supplied with subsidised seeds and fertilisers, ensure that our fishing activities and marketing are improved and small and big industries revived for the sake of improving the people’s income and nothing else,” he explained.

The CS noted that anybody out to sabotage efforts of the Kenya Kwanza government of promoting the lives of Kenyans through holding onto politics of tag of wars would be going against the people’s wish of seeing a better country.

Owalo made the remarks while launching the Third Phase of relief food distribution at GotKwer trading centre in Suna West Sub County, Migori County today.

The Region has been supplied with several tones of relief supplies that includes, Maize, Beans and Rice in a bid to cushion people from pangs of hunger ravaging the area due to extended droughts

The CS said it was time that the people of Nyanza worked closely with the current government in order to enjoy the fruits of the tax they always pay to the national kitty.

“We wants good roads to be done in this region, we want the healthcare of the people improved, clean water to reach every part of Migori and, mining activities to be modernised to produce good earnings rather than wasting time fighting the sitting government,” said Owalo, who was flunked by several leaders from Luo Nyanza.

He urged the youth and women from the region to apply for the newly launched Hustlers Fund, saying it has a good intention to improve the economy of Kenyans.
