Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa has hailed the Jubilee government for setting a mark in the issuance of title deeds across the country noting that the target has exceeded the combined total number that former regimes issued.
Speaking during the launch of issuance of land titles in West Pokot County on Friday, Wamalwa said the government under Uhuru Kenyatta has facilitated the issuance of 6 million titles within a record time of 10 years.
“For 50 years the then governments managed to process 5 million title deeds as compared to Uhuru’s administration that has broken the record by processing 6 million titles since taking over in 2013 something that is amazing,” Wamalwa stated.
Wamalwa lauded the government for fast-tracking the issuance of land titles noting that it has helped many Kenyans to have value for their land, as they can now enjoy full ownership.
A total of 123 title deeds were issued during the launch exercise by the CS with the West Pokot County Lands Registry having received over 1,500 ready for collection.
