The Government is currently renewing cash transfer beneficiary accounts contract with six banks countrywide.
The Department of Social Development in Tinderet Sub County is targeting 2000 beneficiaries for account contract renewal with the banks namely, Kenya Commercial Bank, Equity Bank, Post Bank, Cooperatives Bank, National Bank and Kenya Women Finance Trust Bank.
Sub County Social Development Officer, Laban Rotich, said the number of target beneficiaries could be lower as some older persons have already died.
He said those deceased are removed from the register of beneficiaries.
“As we renew beneficiary accounts contract with the banks, we also delete the names of dead beneficiaries,” said Rotich.
He added that beneficiaries are required to physically present themselves before the department to access the services that run from November 10th to December 2nd this year.
