Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has commissioned two Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres at Kanaani Primary school in Yatta Sub County.
Usaidizi Foundation, an NGO dedicated to improving the lives and wellbeing of the less fortunate in the society, collaborated with the county government in building of the classrooms at Kanaani primary.
While speaking during the commissioning, the Governor highlighted the importance of public –private partnership in enhancing early childhood education in Machakos.
Wavinya hailed the Usaidizi Foundation for their dedication in improving the education sector and appealed to other partners, well-wishers and corporate organizations to join hands with Machakos and elevate educational infrastructure in the county.
“My Government is very grateful to Usaidizi foundation and welcome other development partners to support education in Machakos,” said Wavinya.
She also assured the teachers and parents that they would work together and uplift the standards of education in the county to enable every child would access quality education that would prepare them for life after school.
Antony Achola the Chairman of Usaidizi Foundation added that their aim was to ensure the Kanaani primary children have a conducive environment for the children to learn.
He said they had previously accessed the classes at Kanaani primary, realized they were not in good condition and together as a team decided to make a change for the future leaders.
