Governor Nyaribo reshuffles his cabinet

Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo has reshuffled his cabinet, a move he states is meant to increase efficiency in his government.

In Wednesday’s press release, one County Executive Committee Member (CECM) and three County chief officers were affected in the reshuffle within departments.

“I have made the move of reshuffling my cabinet, in a bid to boost efficient service delivery in our County Government and the changes will be effected immediately,” read the statement.

In the changes, Public Service Management CECM, Thomas Nyariki will take an additional responsibility of being the CECM for the department of lands.

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for lands, housing and urban development, Mr. Samwel Maiko has been moved to the department of Environment, minerals and natural resources.

Chief Officer for the departments of Roads, Transport and Public works, Ms. Lillian Kerich has been moved to the Education and vocational training department.

Vincent Oigo takes over as Lands, Housing and Urban Development Chief Officer from the Education department.

Mr. Josphat Gori who has been serving as Chief Officer for departments of lands, housing and urban development takes over as new Chief officer for the departments of Roads, Transport and Public works.

Governor Nyaribo is yet to fill one post of a CECM several months after vetting was finalized.

Clive Gisairo, meant to represent the youth, is yet to be appointed into the cabinet after the county assembly completed his vetting alongside others who are already serving.

It is unclear why the Governor, who on his swearing in as second governor promised to consider youths into his government, has decided to leave out the youth, after vetting and clearance from the County assembly’s appointments committee ten months ago.
