Governor Ntutu has called on the residents of Emurrua Dikirr not to fall for the personal agendas of some Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), warning that their actions could derail vital development projects in the region.
Speaking during the commissioning of new projects in Mogondo Ward, the governor addressed an incident where a group of youths attempted to disrupt the event, leading police to intervene with tear gas.
Ntutu condemned the chaos, which he claimed was incited by politicians with self-serving interests.
“The MCAs opposing these developments are misleading our youth for personal gain,” added Ntutu
Governor Ntutu urged the youth not to be used as pawns in political battles. He called on local elders to counsel young people and protect them from being exploited by politicians who prioritize their own interests over the well-being of the community.
The MCAs who were against the Governor were from Olomaasani, Mogondo, and Ilkerin wards in the Trans Mara East sub-county.
Governor Ntutu singled out these MCAs, asking them to step aside if they are unwilling to support the county’s development initiatives.
“If you are not going to support progress, then stay out of the way and let the people benefit from these projects,” Ntutu warned.
Governor Ntutu emphasized the importance of unity and peace, urging leaders to avoid conflict and work together for the community’s benefit. He reminded the residents that, as the county leader, he has a mandate to tour all areas, commission projects, and engage with citizens to ensure equitable development across Narok County.
