Governor mourns fallen Laikipia leader

The Laikipia Governor, Ndiritu Muriithi has on behalf of Laikipia Citizens, entire County Government, and his family sent a message of condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Christopher Maitho Murigu.

Maitho  who  passed on 31st, December 2019 served as the Chairman of both Kenya African National Union (KANU) and later, The National Alliance (TNA) political parties in Laikipia County. He as well served as the Chairman Kikuyu Council of Elders, Laikipia Branch, till his death.

In his condolences message emailed to newsrooms, Governor Muriithi described Maitho as an indomitable figure of great energy, social enterprise and unparalleled self-sacrifice in the community and the country at large.

“The  Chairman as we referred him will be remembered for many things since he touched and interacted with each and every one of us; young and old alike at different levels, a bold testimony to his leadership acumen across the board,’’ the Governor eulogized.

Muriithi  further described the fallen Laikipia leader as an eloquent communicator, far sighted, accomplished entrepreneur and a towering fountain of knowledge and connections for many.

Maitho  who died at age 63, will be buried at his Kabanga farm in Matanya location, Laikipia Central Sub-County on Tuesday 8th January.

He  is father to former nominated Laikipia Member of the County Assembly, Daisy Kirigo Maitho.
