The Trans Nzoia governor, Patrick Khaemba has launched construction of Sh.849 million modern business park in Kitale town.
The business park will have two blocks, a four storey building on the upper side and another five storey structure on the lower side.
According to Khaemba, the ultra-modern facility will take a maximum of 25 months to complete.
The facility will accommodate 5,000 business people that will be allocated stalls using an existing register, with priority being given to those previously displaced from the old stage, to pave way for the new construction.
During the launch on Friday, Khaemba said that the grand opening of the ultra-modern bus park will also see the automation system of revenue collection, saying the county government is projecting collection of Sh.300 million annually in revenue once the stalls are completed.
The governor attributed the slow pace of projects in the area to raw politics and court cases.
He also took the opportunity to send his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. The governor remembered the fallen icon for his great leadership and efforts towards agriculture, forestry and Education among other key sectors of the economy.
