Governor Bii assures Uasin Gishu ready to host African CAC cycling championships

Uasin Gishu County is fully prepared to host the eagerly anticipated Confederation of African Cycling, (CAC) championships.

Speaking ahead of the championship’s official start, Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii expressed enthusiasm for the event and highlighted the county’s readiness.

“Our county is all geared up and ready to roll, we have welcomed cycling participants from over 20 countries, who are already fine-tuning their performance on our roads as they prepare for tomorrow’s (Wednesday) official kick-off,” stated Governor Bii.           

“Our roads have become dynamic training tracks, buzzing with energy as athletes warm up for the competition,” Bii added.           

He called on county residents to attend and support the event, which will begin on Wednesday and run until Sunday.           

“I encourage everyone to turn up and cheer the riders as they race through our city. It’s an opportunity for us to demonstrate our pride and hospitality, proving that Uasin Gishu is a powerhouse in the world of sports,” he said.           

The County Chief emphasised that hosting the event was a significant step in positioning Uasin Gishu as a viable location for international sports competitions. 

“This championship is a great honour as it highlights our growing prominence and the perfect environment we offer for sporting events on a global scale,” he said.
