The National government is set to establish a police post at Kabubua market in Evurore ward, Mbeere North Sub County to enhance security.
Area Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Christopher Siele said the decision to establish the police post in the area was informed by many insecurity incidents being reported in that region.
Speaking in Mbere North during a public baraza on Saturday, Siele said the police post will bring services closer to the residents whom he called upon to cooperate with the police officers for the desired objectives.
“Alongside the Kabubua market, Riandu market will also have a police post while Ishiara police post will be elevated to a police station,” he added.
The DCC further noted that Kathanje and Kirie markets have also been proposed to have police posts.
The residents of Evurore received the news with jubilations optimistic that with establishment of a police post at Kabubua market insecurity will cease.
“We appreciate the step taken by the national government for considering to establish a police post at Kabubua market as insecurity which has persisted for a long time will come to an end,” Margaret Njiru, a resident observed.
