Normalcy is slowly returning in Dhumaal and Shoobtoy villages in Banisa Sub County after wave of attacks and counter attacks that claimed the lives 13 people in the last few days.
Security teams were temporarily deployed to guard the affected villages, with residents who had fled the flare up now coming back to the villages.
The government has beefed up security in the area to prevent retaliatory attacks after gunmen believed to be from the Degodia clan ambushed villagers.
Residents fled for safety in neighboring villages of Shabtooy, Dhanich, Soroba, Churuqo and Onganicho within Banisa Constituency for fear of more attacks.
Area leaders led by Malkamri MCA Abdi Kubad are now calling on the residents to return to their homes as the government is in full control of the situation.
The leaders also called on the county and national government to extend emergency relief to the affected residents.
One of the area residents, Mohamed Abollow also urged a residents to return to their homes, while thanking the government for restoring security in the area.
Meanwhile, the county leadership and elders drawn from the Degodia and Garre clans are holding peace meetings to reconcile the warring groups.
