A 19 year old girl was on Wednesday electrocuted in Kiminini while she was weeding on a farm next to an electric fence.
Police say the girl had joined her mother to carry out the casual labour in a neigbour’s farm when the incident occurred.
The Trans Nzoia County Police Commander (CPC), Ayubu Ali Gitonga said that the mother of the girl, Zipora Maruti told the police that her daughter, Lydia Nafula touched the electric fence unaware of the live wires next to the farm they were weeding.
Police confirmed that the form four student died instantly and her body taken was to Cherangany Hospital Mortuary.
He said that he owner of the farm Gabriel Mutonya has been arrested and is helping police with investigations.
