Fumigation starts in Kisii to the curb spread of coronavirus

Kisii County has embarked on a cleaning and fumigating exercise in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly contagious Coronavirus in the devolved unit.

The  exercise which begun on Saturday morning and ran into the night in the Central Business District Kisii Town saw thorough cleaning of public places.

The  County Secretary, Patrick Lumumba  urged the general public to report any County administrators that did not promote adherence to the laid down health protocols.

The  County Executive in charge of Administration, Corporate Services and Stakeholder Management, Edna Kangwana said that the operation is set to cover all major towns in the County and sub – counties.

Kangwana  appealed to residents to cooperate with the officials and enforcement officers that are engaged in the exercise.

The  Kisii County Chief Public Health Officer, Richard Onkware appealed to the traders to ensure that their premises environments are disinfected in the ongoing exercise.

A local businessman, Stephen Arika advised traders to keep on cooperating with the two levels of government despite numerous challenges during these unprecedented times.
