A primary school teacher in Central Sakwa location Bondo sub-county has committed suicide after he was allegedly accused by the school administration of stealing two laptops.
The body of Elkana Owino Omondi who was a teacher at Migiro primary school was found while dangling from the roof of his rental house at Nango trading centre in Nyang’oma division last evening after he committed suicide.
According to the Assistant County Commissioner of Nyang’oma division Mr. Samson Akach, the middle aged teacher who has ten children, had a disagreement with the school management over some two school laptops which had gone missing.
Akach told KNA that the body was discovered by the teacher’s wife who had come back from the nearby trading centre only to find the husband hanging with a rope round his neck.
He further disclosed that the teacher left behind a suicide note on which he indicated that there is nowhere that he was going to get the laptops which he had not stolen.
The Assistant County Commissioner stated on another suicide note, the deceased implicated some two teachers whom he accused of being behind his tribulations at the school and warned that they will live to regret.
Akach who confirmed the ill-fated incident stated that the body of the teacher has since been removed to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary to await post-mortem as investigations begin into the matter.
