Police have arrested four suspects in connection with rising insecurity at the sprawling Nyalenda informal settlement in Kisumu city.
The arrest comes after recent cases of gang attacks by a masked men who reportedly were in a habit of waylaying area residents in the wee hours of the night.
Four people have so far reported similar attacks at the suburb spreading fear among residents who sought help from the security agencies.
Michael Chumba, the officer in charge of Nyalenda Police Post told KNA that he had received reports about the activities but expressed fears that none of the victims had so far made a formal statement at the station.
Chumba said police officers have intensified patrols in the area to zero in on the attacker, and asked those who have been affected to visit the police station and record statements.
Confirming the arrests, Kisumu County Commander, Benson Maweu said the suspects will help the police unmask the assailant.
Speaking to KNA in his office on Sunday, Maweu asked victims of the attacks to fill P3 forms and record statements to aide in the investigations.
