Four students from Chebilat Secondary school are recuperating at Kapkatet Sub County Hospital after they sustained burns from a fire that razed down their dormitory last Tuesday.
Preliminary investigations into the fire incident indicated that a section of irate students at the school torched their dormitory in protest against their new deputy head teacher.
The fire that razed down the building was not extinguished as firefighters took long to respond to the emergency.
Fire department spokesman Stanley Mutai said they received distress call way later when the fire had consumed all the bedding as well other properties belonging to the learners.
The students protested accusing their disciplinary master of allegedly introduction of draconian rules on the code of conduct.
In another incident at Kimolwet Academy, a fire broke out at night, also burning down a dormitory.
The fire is believed to have been caused by electric fault and no property was rescued from the inferno.
