Former Chief Officer attacked by gunman

Former  Turkana County Chief Officer for Public Service, (Rtd) Major Daniel Ingolan  was Monday night shot in the arm and left foot in his home at Kanamkemer, Lodwar.

The  lone gunman walked into the home of Ingolan pretending to be a visitor at 8pm.

According to Turkana Central Sub County Police Officer (SCPO), David Mborokwa, the man told the watchman that he was a visitor and he was allowed into the compound.

“He had a pistol which he used to shoot the former chief officer. He was however, overwhelmed by the other people who were in the house, who took his pistol and shot him dead,” said Mborokwa.

“Ingolan was rushed to Lodwar County Referral Hospital and is in stable condition,”said the SCPO.

He added police are investigating if the gun belongs to the government after claims that the gunman was a police officer.

Mborokwa could not confirm immediately whether the gunman was a police officer but said investigations were underway.
