The Football Kenya Federation Electoral Board has assured Kenyans of its commitment to conducting just and transparent elections before the end of December this year.
Speaking during the unveiling of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Electoral Board members held at a Nairobi hotel on Monday, the Chairman of the FKF Electoral Board, Prof. Hezborn Owilla, said the Board members are united to deliver a free, fair, and transparent election that is credible and verifiable.
Other Electoral Board members included Marceline Sande, Dan Mule, Alfred Ng’ang’a, and James Waindi.
He said the Board’s projection is to hold the elections before mid-December, and they were hopeful that nothing would distract them from the timeline they would release in the next three days.
“The electoral board will be housed at Kandanda House. We will be seated there with a very independent team that will help us deliver these elections. Every vote counts; every voice is heard,” stated Owilla.
The Board Chairman assured that the forthcoming elections would set the foundation for the future of the beloved sport, one that fans, players, and stakeholders have entrusted the Football Kenya Federation to safeguard.
“We assure fans and stakeholders that the Board is committed to doing its part to deliver what they will be proud of,” he added.
The Chairman said that the launch of the Board means a lot to the football community in the country and to the young kids growing up, as they would see football as a sport that could offer professional opportunity.
Regarding the contestants, Owilla said the FKF election offered an opportunity for each and every individual to exercise integrity and commitment to elevate Kenyan football.
“This is a platform to demonstrate their passion for sports and dedication to making a positive impact, and all of them are basically going to contribute to that whether they win or not,” he added.
