Five people including two police officers and a bar attendant were arrested while drinking in a bar within Homa Bay Town.

Confirming the incident to KNA, Homa Bay County Police Commander Esther Seroney said that police officers acted on a tip off from members of the public who saw them gaining entry into the premises.
Seroney added that the five were arrested for flouting the government ban on bars and restaurants from operating as one of the ways to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
She further revealed that the suspects also flouted social distancing requirement by the government to curb the spread of coronavirus saying they never observed the 1 meter distance rules while at the bar.
The county police boss said that the suspects were taken to Homa Bay police station where they are currently being detained awaiting to be arraigned in court.
