Five people have this morning sustained minor injuries in a road accident that occurred at Primarosa area of Mavoko Sub County along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway
Athi River police boss Sharma Wario who confirmed the accident said the victims sustained slight injuries in the 6.00am incident after the Sema Sacco mini-bus they were traveling in veered off the road
Wario said the bus which was travelling to Nairobi was obstructed by an oncoming motor vehicle that was overtaking
“The vehicle was obstructed by an oncoming motor vehicle which was overtaking a fleet of other vehicles. The driver tried to avoid head-on collision by swerving to the left and in the process lost control and the vehicle overturned,” said Wario.
The police boss said the matter was reported at the Kyumbi police station where the wreckage was towed
The victims are admitted at the Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River town where they are responding well to treatment.
