The Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company (NYEWASCO) has stepped in to complement the government’s efforts in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 disease.
The firm has unveiled measures it has put in place to curb the spread of the highly infectious respiratory disease which has continued to wreak havoc in the country.
According to the company’s acting Managing Director Peter Kahuthu, the firm is sensitising its staff and clients on Ministry of Health guidelines on Covid-19.
The company, the official says, is providing masks and sanitizers to its staff and clients visiting its office across Nyeri.
In addition, NYEWASCO has installed over 60 hand washing points in the county and has waived water charges for informal settlement area such as Witemere slums. Other measures include putting on temporary hold, water disconnections for customers with arrears.
