FC Amagoro held to a goalless draw by Samitsi FC in Div 2 League encounter

Amagoro football club, from Busia County were over the weekend held to a goalless draw by Samititsi FC from Malava in Kakamega County, in the FKF Division Two League match before a capacity crowd at Amagoro Primary School grounds.

The match marked the start of the league organized by the Football Kenya Federation Western Branch, which kicked off on Saturday across the region.

It was a seesaw battle that saw the two teams display their prowess, but luck failed to smile on them with numerous scoring chances.

Amagoro captain Evans Elungata said the team played well save for attacking formula, which he said Coach Francis Otwane will improve when they play their next game against Royal Classic of Bungoma.

Samitsi captain Bernard Marani said the team that also featured in Division Two league last season finishing fourth noted that they will emerge winners in the second leg as they were the better side.

In another Division two encounter, played at Kabkara Primary School, hosts Kabkara trounced visiting Webuye Sportiff 3-0 with goals from Amos Irai in the 5th minute, Victor Chivaria (45th) and Haroun Kibet (85th).

Kabkara will play their second game with an away game against Samitsi next weekend. The club patron James Eumonit exuded confidence that they would qualify to play in Division One League next season in their pursuit to play the top tier league.
