Barely a month after the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Lee Kinyanjui, presided over the opening of a wheat milling factory in Kirinyaga county, another flour milling facility has been opened in the same county in Mwea Town.
This, according to Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, has come due to the continuous making of business-friendly policies to attract more industrial investments in the county.
Speaking when she presided over the official launch of the new Nice Extra Premium Millers flour milling factory and financial service provider, Diamond Trust Bank Mwea Branch, Waiguru said the County has made a significant leap toward economic transformation as more value addition industries open factories in the devolved unit.

“Kirinyaga is the new frontier for investment due to the conducive environment we have created. You do not need to know anyone for you to set up a business in Kirinyaga. The dual unveiling marks a turning point for the county, positioning it as a magnet for investors, industrialists, and financial institutions,” Waiguru said.
She said apart from investing in good infrastructure and modernisation of towns, availability of raw material for production is drawing investors to Kirinyaga.
Waiguru noted the presence of financial institutions will ease access to banking and credit facilities, boost local entrepreneurship, support farmer cooperatives and strengthen small businesses in the county.
The governor rallied partners and investors to consider investing in Kirinyaga, noting that the future is not just promising but is already unfolding. The county is no longer just a county defined by its rice paddies but a bold, dynamic and rapidly emerging investment hub.
Charles Njiru, the owner of new Nice Extra Premium Millers, noted he is not only concentrating on business but also on job creation.
“This is not just a business; it is a platform for empowerment, job creation and a celebration of what is possible when vision meets support,” he said, noting the County Government of Kirinyaga for fostering an environment where private enterprises can thrive.
