Farmers warn against cheap maize sales

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has cautioned farmers against falling prey to middlemen, who are driving the current exploitative maize prices.

“Don’t be lured into selling maize cheaply. You deserve better. Stay put as we seek stability for maize prices,” Lusaka Said.

Lusaka attributed the current bumper harvest across the County to the free farm input distribution by his administration, noting that plans are underway to cushion farmers from exploitation.

“We are working on alternative ways of cushioning our farmers both at the County and National level,” he observed.

The Governor reiterated his firm commitment to bettering the livelihoods of residents through his varied development projects already on-going.

“We are on the last mile, the legacy regime, service delivery for all”, he reaffirmed.

He spoke at Siritanyi Catholic Church, Musikoma Ward, Kanduyi Sub County, during a funds drive in aid of the church.

Kanduyi MP John Makali, a host of MCAs, and other leaders were in attendance.
