A family in Mwangaza village, Kipipiri Sub County, Nyandarua County is seeking justice after their daughter was allegedly defiled and impregnated by a teacher.
The family alleged the teacher, David Kanai of Mwihoti primary school, defiled the girl at her home while the parents were away attending a burial ceremony.
The form three student, aged 16 years, indicated that the teacher found her at home and defiled her after she turned down his advances.
“Kanai came home when my parents were away and forced me to the act which I had refused. He had also told me not to say anything to my parents concerning what had happened,” said the girl
According to her father, Simon Njoroge, he had high hopes for his daughter which have now been dashed by the act committed by the teacher.
“I would urge the government to take stern action against the teacher and never allow him to teach our children again,” said the dejected father, adding that he had high hopes in the girl doing well in life.
A village elder, Elijah Mwangi condemned the action of the teacher and called on the government to take stern action against him.
He also called the children rights organization to help the family as they are not in a position to help the child whom they have struggled to raise and educate.
The angry villagers said they will not allow the suspect back to the community and that he should be imprisoned for life.
