A family from Seger in Kuresoi South Sub-county are appealing to well-wishers to help them raise money to aid in treatment of their son’s strange skin disease.
Gideon Rotich, 23, who is also epileptic has been suffering from the skin condition since way back in 2014 that has cost the family Sh1 million for treatment.
According to his sister, Mercy Chepkoech, the family has spent millions of shillings in ensuring that their kin gets the best medical attention to an extent of selling part of their family land but all this effort has borne no fruits as they are forced to go back to their pockets and fetch more cash for the same cause.
Chepkoech notes that the only piece of land left is on the verge of being sold out and yet the money will not be enough for the treatment given to Rotich who has been in and out of hospital.
She adds that they have received treatment from a number of hospitals including Olenguruone Sub-county Hospital, Corner House, Tenwek among others.
The ailment is said to have begun with wounds in some parts of the body that spread all over with time. The disease has caused skin peeling off all over his body.
With his deteriorating condition, the family is out to ensure that he gets specialized treatment but unfortunately they are financially crippled thus the need for appeal to raise more cash.
The disease has ripped off Rotich of his future given that he dropped out of school when he was in class eight and has not been able to resume classes since then.
