Facilities for Playing Darts

Nakuru County Chief Officer for Youth, Sports and Talent, Alex Maina, has pledged to support the Darts leadership of the County and nurture talents across the county.

He said resources have been allocated to establish mini stadiums in the eleven sub counties to nurture the sport as both a talent and a potential career path for players.

He was speaking at a hotel at Njoro Sub-county where thirty teams from Nakuru, Kiambu, Baringo and Nairobi Counties participated during an event organized by Kenya Darts Association Council leadership.

The Chief Officer assured the players that the County will pursue public-private partnerships to develop frameworks and policies for the support and sponsorship of darts and commended County employees who are key players of the game and the significant role they have played in promoting the sport.

He further emphasized on the significance of teamwork and sportsmanship in teaching young individuals’ valuable lessons.

The Nakuru County Branch Darts Chairperson Peter Kariuki, pledged to collaborate with the County leadership to promote Darts competitions, targeting youth to address idleness and combat drug abuse.

The chairperson urged the institutions to embrace the game since it not only provides a recreational space but enhances mental and emotional stability.

Emphasizing on the importance of promoting darts, he observed that the game holds several significant benefits, encompassing social, health, and economic aspects.

Darts, according to Kariuki, fosters community and social cohesion by bringing people together and being accessible to all ages and skills. Furthermore, regular practice of a sport can improve cognitive functions, relieve stress, and enhance hand-eye coordination, focus, precision, and patience, according to the speaker.
