Bungoma and South Korea have joined hands to redefine, strengthen and expand Vocational Training Centres through exchange Programmes.
According to Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka and South Korea’s Jeollanam- Do Office of Education Minister Kim Dae Jung the programmes will drive innovation, research and job growth for both the County Government and South Korea.
In an exclusive phone interface, Lusaka said they will enhance skill development, equipping young people both in Bungoma and Korea with essential skills in ICT, green technologies and sustainable construction practices.
In the agreement, South Korea handed Bungoma delegation 4,000 State-of-the-art ECDE furniture that will boost the county’s efforts in providing conducive environment for the young learners across the centres.
Lusaka noted: “This partnership we have secured will transform the learning experience of our young men and women in our VTCs. We are grateful.’’
The governor noted that Bungoma has a longstanding partnership with South Korea, with the latter having actively been supporting the county in provision of clean and safe water to close to 200,000 residents through KOICA I, KOICA II and soon to be launched KOICA III.
Lusaka led the team from Bungoma in showcasing the county’s infrastructure in both and VTCs at the Korea global Education Fair 2024.
