Students of Emwiru Day Secondary School in Khwisero Sub-County have a reason to smile after a newly constructed tuition block was officially handed over to the institution.
Area Member of Parliament (MP), Christopher Aseka, said the building will offer a conducive learning and working environment for both students and teachers.
Aseka disclosed that the facility comprises of six classrooms, a library and an ICT lab that was built with funds from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He said so far, they have constructed and handed over 17-storey tuition blocks across the sub-county to various schools in a bid to improve the learning environment and educational infrastructure in the area.
Speaking over the weekend in Kisa North Ward, Aseka reaffirmed his commitment to construct more buildings in various schools as education remains his top priority.
“With the completion of this project, we have now completed and handed over 17 storey tuition blocks across the constituency,” he proudly said.
He pointed out that to further support the students, he has introduced a subsidized lunch program in all day secondary schools, where learners now pay only Sh 1,000 per term for the rations.
Beyond education, Aseka said that he is steadfast in Khwisero’s development, particularly in the ongoing construction of Khwisero Level IV Hospital which will revolutionize healthcare access in the area.
