Embu County Government has cautioned members of the public to be wary of scammers posing to offer jobs in the devolved unit.
In a media alert, the County Public Service Board noted that there were fraudsters circulating appointment and promotion opportunities in exchange for money.
“We wish to caution Embu County employees and the general public against falling into the trap of unscrupulous people who have devised this scheme with the sole intention of conning them,” read part of the statement.
“We would urge anyone who receives these suspicious job offers which require them to pay money for whatever reason to secure a job opportunity, to ignore them,” read the statement.
The alert further noted that all jobs available were advertised through the approved government media outlets and no money was asked from applicants.
“We would like to assure the public that investigations into the alleged scam have commenced,” further read the statement while calling for anyone who comes across such dubious offers to report to the Board through telephone number 0722547089 or nearest Director of Criminal Investigation’s office.
