EACC, County Board lead anti-corruption training in Turkana

The Turkana County Public Service Board (CPSB) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have trained a section of county staff to sensitise county government staff on national values and principles of good governance.

The three-day training in Kakuma led to the development of two documents—a procedure on Prevention of Bribery and Corruption and a guide for teaching National Values and Principles of good governance.

In her remarks, Dr. Pauline Akiru Ekod, Acting Chairperson at CPSB, said the Board was committed to transparency and the highest form of governance.

“This training will help us to serve the people and guide the civil servants better,” she said.

Charles Rasugu, EACC North Rift Regional Manager, applauded the Board for drafting important policies, stating, “We commend the county of Turkana for drafting several policies, and we urge them to go ahead and gazette them to set a strong stand against corruption.”

The trainees will hold similar trainings with county staff across various departments to improve governance towards fulfilling the county’s Integrated Development Agenda.

Board members present included Dr. Major (Rtd.) Daniel Nawose Ingolan, Vonwilly Etiir Nalengo, Erastus Ekidor Ngala, Edward Losinyono, Bartoo Jelagat Francisca (CEO), Joseph Ngatotin (Assistant Director, Human Resources), Phanice Jemaiyo (Chief Human Resource Officer), Simon Ipoo (Principal Administrator), Abednego Loye (Senior Procurement Officer), Emmanuel Esinyen (ICT Officer), and EACC representatives from Nairobi and North Rift.
