The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has conducted a sensitization meeting with members of the Narok County Government Executive to discuss corruption prevention measures.
Speaking to the press in Maasai Mara, Deputy Governor (DG) Tamalinye Koech stated that the meeting was aimed at educating the county government executives on good governance and ethical practices.
Koech said the goal is to combat corruption and enhance professionalism within the county administration.
“The training is essential to promote good governance and strengthen leadership within the Narok County Government,” he said.
The DG emphasized the importance of equipping staff with knowledge about ethical standards and professionalism to get rid of corruption.
While acknowledging that county staff have generally adhered to their responsibilities, Koech highlighted the need for periodic training to refresh their skills and knowledge.
He noted that the last capacity-building program for county staff was conducted in 2018, underscoring the importance of organizing such initiatives this year.
Koech further revealed disclosed that the Governor will appoint a Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC).
This committee will consist of qualified professionals with relevant experience and will be tasked to develop proactive measures to prevent corruption.
The DG urged county staff to view the EACC not as an adversary, but as a guiding partner in fostering accountability and integrity within the county’s operations.
The training was conducted by the EACC regional commissioner Kipsang Sampai who lauded the County Government of Narok for organizing the workshops.
