Police in Homa Bay Sub County have arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized Bhang of unknown value at Nduta village of Kalanya Kanyango Location in Homa Bay County.
The suspect identified as Joseph Ochieng Okach was arrested at their home in a joint operation conducted by the area chief, Fredrick Onyango and security officers attached at Rodi Kopany police station.
During the raid, the officers laid an ambush and netted three litters of Changaa, 40 rolls of bhang, 6 brooms and 90 sticks of bhang together with 68 pieces of Rizla used for the package of the substance.
According to the area chief, the bhang was packed in a sack ready to be transported to an unknown destination.
Onyango said that the suspect has been selling the drugs in the village and other areas including various beaches within Homa Bay Sub County.
Confirming the incident to KNA, the Homa Bay Sub County Police Commander, Sammy Koskey said the suspect was arrested after they received a complaint from members of the public.
He will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
