The driver of a Toyota probox motor- vehicle died on the spot while his passenger was seriously injured when his vehicle collided head- on with an oncoming lorry at Ntulele trading centre along the Maai-mahiu- Narok road today morning.
Confirming the accident, Narok East Acting sub-County Police Commander Pius Mbithi said the driver of the lorry was coming from Maai-mahiu side when he lost control and veered off his lane whereupon he crashed into the probox car that was coming from the opposite direction.
The probox car landed on the side of the road from the impact where the driver died on the spot and his passenger seriously injured.
The passenger is fighting for his life at Narok Referral Hospital where the medics have described his condition as stable while the body of the deceased is lying at Narok Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and further investigations into the accident.
Police have launched a manhunt for the driver of the lorry who escaped but the lorry and the wreckage of the probox car which was extensively damaged have been towed to Ntulele police station for inspection and further investigations.
