A 30 year old man who killed his father over 100 shillings was Tuesday lynched by an angry mob in Ndoswa location in Elburgon division.
Eric Kibiwott is said to have been upset after his father, Wilson Chepkicho, 65, gave him only 100 shillings instead of the 200 shillings he demanded from him.
According to the deceased’s wife, Kobilo Chepyegon, their son arrived home at around 6.30pm Monday and approached his father demanding the said amount of cash.
At the moment, Chepkicho had only a 100 shillings and that is what he handed to Kibiwott but the unfortunate happened.
He got very angry and got hold of an axe which he used to hit his father on the head killing him instantly.
Kibiwott ran away but the irate residents got hold of him Tuesday morning at Lawina centre as he was escaping, beat him senseless then lynched him.
Chepkicho’s body is lying at the Elburgon sub-county hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
Kibiwott is said to have been sober when he committed the heinous act and was not under influence of alcohol which he consumes at times.
Area Assistant County Commissioner, Naphtali Korir confirmed the incident saying that this is very unfortunate and urged the residents to shun from taking the law into their own hands but let the law take its course.
He advised parents to seek parental guidance to enable them nurture their children in a manner that they can be able to handle difficult situations.
