A fire breakout at Nyayo girls secondary school, Kalama Sub County, Machakos has razed down three dormitories causing major losses to the school property.
According to Senior Chief Douglas Mutavi of Lumbwa Location in Kalama Sub county, there was no casualty, since the Sunday night incident occurred when the students were in class for night studies.
Speaking to the press, Mutavi said nothing was salvaged from the burnt dormitories, forcing over 100 students to sleep in the classes as they waited to be released to go home Monday.
He added that they suspect some of the girls started the fire and went back to class to conceal their involvement.
Mutavi noted that two girls have already been arrested and were being held at Konza Police station, even as police commenced investigations into the incident.
