DCC assures security during festive season

Keiyo North DCC Julius Maiyo has assured area residents of adequate security as they continue with Christmas and New Year festivities.

Maiyo said security personnel have intensified patrol both in the urban and rural areas to ensure that residents celebrate in peace.

Addressing the media on measures put in place to address security matters, the DCC said they have ensured that there are enough police officers by recalling those on leave to ensure that all security matters are promptly attended to.

He added that security personnel will be tracking down all liquor-selling joints to ensure that they operate within the stipulated time saying anyone found operating outside official hours will be apprehended.

Maiyo cautioned drivers against driving while drunk to reduce carnage on roads.

He appealed to parents to be personally responsible for their children, saying many vices like drug abuse and early pregnancies are reported during the festive season.

He added that parents should remember that January is around the corner, and therefore, as they celebrate, they should remember that they have to pay school fees.

The DCC, however, reminded residents that even as the government does its part, security starts with an individual; therefore, they should also do their part.
