Education Cabinet Secretary (CS), George Magoha, has directed all contractors building Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) classrooms across the country to ensure the classrooms were complete and ready for use before the general election.
Speaking at Mirira Secondary School in Murang’a East, where one classroom is under construction, the CS commended the contractor for working within the stipulated deadline.
“The work going on here is impressive, it is good to see everyone is doing their part,” he said,
There are three classrooms under construction in the sub-county; one at Mirira secondary school and two at Nyakahai Secondary School.
He underscored the importance of completing the construction works before the election so that the change of government does not interrupt the project.
“Let us remember we are doing this for the children and ensure we do it on time so that the children are not affected.” Magoha said.
There are a total of 112 CBC classrooms under construction in phase two in Murang’a County.
The CS expressed gratification over the overall progress of phase two of CBC classrooms saying it was progressing without many hiccups as phase one.
